The Other Woman - Ms. Koya [MNTG]

"What's wrong with me?" I think for the umpteenth time, as I look into the mirror at the identical face staring back at mine. My guilt-filled thoughts didn't stop my mind from wandering.

That face, I think, cocking my head to one side as I looked at the beauty of my reflection; that face he kisses tenderly every night.
The look on that face softens as I think of him.

Him.
His scent, strong and masculine, invade, fill and intoxicate my senses, driving my mind to frenzied heights.
His eyes, when they moisten as they look at me can reduce me to a pulsing, palpitating pulp.
I've been enamored with him from the moment we first met.
And when I held his hand, the deal was signed, sealed and delivered.
I am smitten by him, his quick and compassionate mind, his built, his sensitivity, his kind words, his gentle spirit, his business acumen, his sense of humour. Him.

We've exchanged all that there is, from our grievances on political and economic issues of our country to emotional sob stories. Such depth in a man.
He's the love of my life.
The little kisses he drops on my forehead every night; habitually, send butterflies diving into my stomach.
There will be no better feeling, even if the heavens opened up and the angels smiled down at me.
He makes me feel like a queen, he shelters me, gives me everything I ask of him.

I feel like I'm a better person around him, or at least the need to be one.
We are so alike, people are opined that we might even look alike.
His assertiveness, sense of independence, individuality and self strength mold my character.
When I cook, clean, do anything for him, his thanks make my world a brighter place to be in.
His voice, sounding like a bear's growl, always seems to emanate from deep in his throat, ringing loud and clear; can be intimidating if taken from the warmth in his dark, kind, beautiful brown eyes.
Those eyes that twinkle with the clarity of crystals, sapphires and diamonds melded into one sparkling jewel.

The only thing we haven't yet done is to culminate our mutually proclaimed love in coitus.
Oh, the sensations that besiege my mind when I think of how you'd love me, tenderly and with fearful and trembling worship. I can barely wait.

There is a stumbling block, however.
She's the bridge between me and my happily-ever-after.
She's the one you come home to, the one you go to bed with and wake up to.
She's the one that keeps you loving me the way you should, the way I want you to.
She's the one you said 'I do' to.

She is the other woman.
She is my mother.

Losing Love

Anyone who has gone through the agony of losing someone he/she loves
so much will still wish against all odds to have that love back again.
But sometimes a love lost is a love gone forever. No amount of hope
can bring back to life a relationship that just died a natural death.
Set yourself free, let your heart spread its wings and fly. Remember,
it may rain for 40 days and 40 nights, but still it will not rain
forever. One day the pouring will stop and there will be plenty of
branches where you can find rest. One of these is where you will build
your nest and start over again. It's never too late. you may find love
and lose it, but WHEN LOVE DIES YOU NEVER DIE WITH IT.

You cannot be a redeemer all your life. The best way to weigh a relationship is
through the test of fire. You cannot be sober with your mistake forever.

Don't let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind
speak for itself. Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as
well. Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that
someone better is coming tomorrow.

IF YOU LOSE LOVE, IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE FAILED COMPLETELY. CRY IF YOU HAVE TO BUT MAKE SURE THAT TEARS WASH AWAY THE HURT AND THE BITTERNESS THAT THE PAST LEFT YOU
WITH. LET GO OF YESTERDAY AND LOVE WILL FIND ITS WAY BACK TO YOU.

When it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a
lifetime. A woman on the rebound could easily fall for sweeping
emotions and be made to falsely believe that she finally stumbled upon
the right person..when what she just found is only someone to cover up
for the love she lost. A person who makes a promise with words and not
with actions may never live up to them.

Love makes us see the things through rose-coloured glasses. Most of the
time, we fail to recognise the danger sign that light up along our
way. This feeling you have nurtured for so long isn't healthy anymore.
You must realize that you have to let go now before it consumes you
and your sanity. There is always a time to think and stop. A time to
be sensible and not to allow our hearts to rule over our heads.

You deserve to be happy not in the arms of a person who keeps you waiting, but in the arms of someone who will take you now and love you forever. Being in love can be the most wonderful thing we could experience but if the feeling begins to consume and dominate our entire beings, then we have to stop and let our minds and not our hearts dictate our actions, Only when we learn to accept our fate and understand the meaning of our failures can we truly go on with life. Without having to look back and cry over the things that could have been but will never be.

Never settle for less.

Miley Cyrus Involved In Nightclub Assault!

The controversial 19-year old now stands accused of an actual criminal act, following a night out with fiance Liam Hemsworth. Here's what ALLEGEDLY went down...

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that a male filed a police report yesterday morning claiming he and his friends were sitting near Miley and Liam at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel.
Tempers soon flared after Hemsworth's chair was bumped into and he exchanged words with a member of the supposed victim's party. Cyrus then arose to break up the argument and, according to the report, pushed the victim and struck him in the face.
A witness confirms that a dispute did go down, but this individual did not see Miley inflict any physical harm on the accused.
It was a busy, scandal-filled weekend overall for Cyrus. Although she was not home at the time, an intruder was arrested on her property Saturday morning after he climbed a fence, scissors in hand, and insisted on meeting the young star.

Keri Hilson's Coming In November.

American R&B star Keri Hilson tweeted earlier today via her official twitter page (@KeriHilson) that she'll be performing in Abuja, Nigeria in November.
She tweeted "Back to Nigeria in November :) I've done Lagos, I've done Calabar, & I'm Ambassador of the Cross River States ;) Performing Abuja this time!"
She seems excited! ^_^

Is O.J Simpson Khloe Kardashian's Biological Father?

As speculations have arisen over the years over Reality Royal Family's Khloe Kardashian's real father's identity, eyes have turned over to O.J. Simpson, as the National Enquirer, a US-based tabloid's headline screams out. This speculation was made based on the fact that Khloe closely resembles Sydney Simpson, O.J.'s daughter with Nicole Brown.

"O.J. Bombshell: 'I'm Khloe's REAL Dad!" the cover reads. "Shocking truth about O.J. & Kardashian mom." Khloe's lawyer father, Robert Kardashian, was one of O.J.'s attorneys during his murder trial, where he was famously acquitted from murdering his wife largely because a glove used in the murder did not fit his hand in court. Khloe, Kim, and mom Kris Jenner all took to Twitter to laugh off rumors that Simpson was Khloe's real father.

“Khloe brought it up all the time,” Ellen Kardashian, who married the lawyer after his split with Jan Ashley and just two months before his death, said to the magazine. “She looked nothing like the rest. She was tall, had a different shape, light hair, curly hair. Didn’t look anything like the other three children.”

“Robert did question the fact that Khloe was his,” Ellen told the magazine. “Any normal man would if they knew their wife had cheated on him, as later confirmed in Kris' memoirs… But he never would have considered a DNA test. He loved her very much.”

Love. Love?

A reader sent this in, and we decided to post it as a lifestyle topic. What do you think? Please leave appropriate comments below,
***************************************************************************************

Case scenario: You/Someone claim(s) to be in love with someone seen and spoken to barely twice but has/have been messaging the person on Twitter, Facebook, or Bbm? That's impossible. We've lost the meaning of love. For me, the only clue I have is 1Corinthians 13 in the Holy Book.

I can only say for sure that you can be in like with the person or just think, even assume you love the person, on the grounds of infatuation woven around a fairytale dream or hope.

Now what's Love? I'm not sure, but I do know that love is special and is not a word to be used loosely. There is a vast difference between loving someone and being in love with someone. Nowadays being in love is said to be overrated and used as a means to an end; end more often than not being 'chilling', and 'setting p'. We yung'ins need to understand what love is, before proclaiming it.

For now, I don't know what it is, I don't know what it entails, but I have an idea, however vague. I have loved, I still do but haven't been in love yet.I hope to be in love someday with the right person.

What is love to you ? Please inculcate knowledge in me?
Because quite frankly, I'm not sure what love is.

The Key - Ms. Koya [MNTG]

Throwback poem of mine ^_^

I look out through the window pane
Peeping out through the curtains
Thoughts scared and running wild
Little melodramatic pictures floating through my mind.
I'm scared of what the future holds
When we, we but mere mortals assume supremacy
Supremacy even amongst ourselves invoking no diplomacy
We consider the good things bad, or sad.
A concoction of prolonged boredom and weirdness ?

Hmmm.

Rebellion is bravado in its own right.
You, being the Herculean demi-god, radiating light
Everyone going one way and you going another
With you not bothering to look back, or take a breather.
The defiance sending odd little shocks and cold shivers down their spines.
Their ears tingling as they hear of your stance and perceive your adamance.

So rise up! They cannot restrain you, or keep you down.
Chin up! Don't be disheartened, despondent, or even wear a frown.
Uneasy, they say is the head that bears the crown.

The greats do not follow but lead
You cannot reap without sowing a seed.
When life gives you lemons, make an extra buck.
It is not about serendipity, or even luck.

Normality is far from greatness
Life challenges you but won't help you pass the test.
Your achievement in life is limitless, take it from me.
There are many doors, but difference is the key.

Kate Middleton Pregnancy Rumours!

Is Kate Middleton pregnant? Probably not, but a double shot of rumors hit the web this week during the couple's trip to Asia. What went down exactly?

Well, first off, there was the Duchess' choice of beverage in Singapore. Her choice of non-alcoholic beverage to be more specific. OMG!

Reports that an heir may be on the way were ignited as Kate Middleton waved off a glass of wine at a state banquet dinner, opting instead for water. Granted, so did Prince William for reasons unknown.
There are many reasons one could turn down a glass of wine, of course, but William also fueled the pregnancy rumors by actually discussing his future family.

The trip brought the royal couple to the Rainbow Centre, where they met young students, William was asked how many kids he would like to have.

He didn't hesitate before offering up his response, "Two."

We hope to hear the pitter-patter of little feet in Buckingham Palace...or at least hear about it. ^_^

X-Factor USA Review

This just in from one of our readers, Confidence. @cKonfidence on Twitter. Enjoy ! ^_^

The Judges

Yes! The fall TV season has started, and Simon Cowell’s highly anticipated ‘X-Factor’ (USA) has returned to our TV screens bigger and better... well, just bigger.

Simon Cowell

The British media mogul and talent show judge successfully launched the originally UK based show in America last year, but the ratings did not live up to his (quite ridiculous) expectations.
So this year, he got rid of the old (yes you- PAULA ABDUL!) and landed two new big and current names to the panel: Demi Lovato, and the legendary Britney spears.
Demi Lovato & Britney Spears

These two have a lot in common…Now I know what you might be thinking…..self-harm, crazy outbursts, rehab (not to forget Britney’s head shaving) but no, that’s not it. They are both ex-Disney girls who have successfully evolved into adult pop-princesses (Yes demi is an adult! :p)

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato (who is currently at No 1 on the billboard charts with ‘Give your Heart a Break’) seemed to steal the spotlight. To be honest, the constant bickering between her and Simon was more entertaining than Brit’s weird cringes and her shallow-seeming one liners. But not to hate on Britney, I was impressed by her technique as a judge.

L.A (Reid)

Not forgetting L.A (Reid), he was straight to the point and sleek as always, but we would much rather listen to Simon’s hilarious comparison of a hopeful with Dracula?!

Simon thought the addition of more star power will boost ratings- and sadly after Wednesday and Thursday’s premiere, it did not! (It even lost out to rival show-NBC’s ‘The Voice’). However, TV experts are predicting that the ratings would pick up as the season progresses.
On the other hand, after watching the premiere on Fox…I would say it was worth the buzz. Demi and Britney have received good reviews by TV critics for their roles as judges.

This second season is looking very promising and entertaining; all thanks to the drama backstage, and the addition of young Hollywood (did I mention Nick Jonas and Justin Bieber will be joining the show at judges’ houses?!)
The X-factor will continue to air this season on Fox in America, and on other networks around the world. Will you be tuning in?

Amanda Bynes's Reckless Driving And Drug Addiction

What happened to good ole' Amanda Bynes? The actress was said to have been seen driving aimlessly for hours earlier last week, smoking out of what appears to be a drug pipe. With a suspended license no less!

Photos clearly show the star taking hits from a pipe designed to look like a car cigarette lighter, with remnants of marijuana all over her ride.
In addition to what by all accounts looks like weed (see the photos), Bynes' car is a mess, littered with trash, stains, bottles, dog hair and other items.

Chris Brown And Rihanna At It Again?

Most, if not all of us know the Rihanna/Chris Brown story. They dated, were/seemed to be in love, fell out, he assaulted her physically. There was a publicity storm, lawsuit and restraining order...and as time went by, they saw other people. However, an exclusive Oprah interview last month was the table turner which had Rihanna in Barbados, her hometown, tearfully confessing her undying love for Chris. Seems like Chris has felt the same way for a while; if the aftermath of the interview is anything to go by.

Although his reps deny it, no doubt new neck tattoo looks like Riri after he battered her.

....And then comes the kiss. At the VMAs. Not in the corner of a crowded nightclub where they'll be unnoticed. Friendly greeting between two friends (on the lips?), you might argue. We think not.

Looks pretty cozy
....The only person we're sorry for is Chris Brown's current girlfriend, Karrueche Tran because she has to go through this alone, watching her man slip away to the 'love of his life' on the pages of newspapers and magazines.

All the same, we wish them the very best!

The Reaper

We welcome Konyinsola again, readers. Read and enjoy.
*********************************************************************************

Death knows neither pomp nor pageantry, neither poverty nor penury.
The reaper cares not who the devil sends for
He just creeps in unexpected and takes his victim, sometimes with grotesque gore

Death has no loyalty or friends
He ends the life of the young and old
Nothing more than grief and pain he sends
Could even take an angel, if foretold

The easiest of his prey are dealers
Money chasers who sell their souls for big houses and huge pillars
He watches patiently for a decade
For when it's the tenth year, he has his fun

Sipped the life of my friend at a tender age
Looking back, I just fill with rage
While the reaper laughs and plays with his scythe
Takes a look at his death list, and smirks
For another helpless victim is in the works

Could it be you?
Say a prayer before bedtime too.
Could it be me?
The reaper, with his malevolent eyes not be me he sees.

Review : D'banj and the lack of talent thereof

If he had auditioned for Project Fame or West African Idol, D’banj would have lost and his performance used as a skit for the TV commercial. Imagine him as he was several years ago: dressed like Fela but with a mouth organ rather than a saxophone and the famous Don Jazzy singing ‘Tongolo’ while Charlie Boy laughs hysterically or that so-called Ghanian singer saying ‘it’s not werking for me!’ with a shake of the head.

I saw D’banj perform years ago at Ife and it was obvious he had barely enough talent to be a success but I failed to see the connection he forged with the highly critical Ife students by stepping on to the stage blowing the school anthem on his mouth-organ. What D’banj lacks in talent, he makes up in diligence and study. D’banj never jokes with his appearance and considers himself a brand only the way P-Square do. Despite singing about the ‘koko’, ‘tongolo’ and black mambas, D’banj has never impregnated anyone neither does he show his face at every club. From his dressing to his abs and everything else about him, D’banj focuses 100% on making sure his fans enjoy every track he blesses, every concert he performs at without disappointing his corporate sponsors.

Is D’banj finished in Nigeria’s music industry or does he have more to offer? As someone who wrote him off many years ago, I can boldly say D’banj still has stuff to offer. He got it wrong with his single ‘Oyato’ though. The only problem with that song as I see it was the timing. This was his first post-Don Jazzy track and he obviously wasn’t thinking of the fans but some imaginary enemies. The song isn’t worse than ‘Olohun Maje’ or any of his other hits but it was more of the same stuff every other artiste ruling the airwaves now is dropping where we expected a definite statement that without Don Jazzy, he is still the kokomaster.

He should know that there are too many young boys out there singing what he introduced: untalented entertainment… Reminisce, Wizkid, Davido, Iyanya… you know the others.

What they don’t have though is the army of critics and fans that D’banj does, waiting for him to stun us into believing he can still stun us…then we’ll be stunned. D’banj is a brand already though, whether he creates any music henceforth or not. What the critics should not forget is that every album he has dropped has been a hit…a record he shares in pop, only with Psquare. What his fans should not forget is that he no longer has Don Jazzy.

Bien voir demain.

Mutare

Hey There Readers! We have a new guest writer, Feranmi ! Read and enjoy!

Mutare? I just did that to make this thing seem sophisticated.
Mutare is a Latin word.
It means Change
Mutare is Change.

Change, inevitable right?
Its amazing really.
Things change, people change, everything changes at some point
Why? I have no idea.
Funny enough, I was never a fan of it
Whether good or bad

I guess I just hated having to adapt to 'new' things
Looking back at last year, its been quite a year
So many things changed
Friends of yesterday are strangers today
Strangers of yesterday are friends today
But that's how life is right? Nothings permanent. Things are bound to 'change'
And sometimes I'm like "I can't wait till next year to see who's still with me" y'know?

But why do people change?
Well, I figured some get new priorities...like popularity even follower counts. Lol. While some just lose interest.
Its ridiculous.

Funny thing is, change is gradual.
It doesn't just happen
I look back and I realise that I watched as these things happened.
I watched as these people around me evolved gradually
But I guess I thought that 'change' wouldn't come about. But it did.

Do I have any regrets? No.

Everything changes for a reason.
As lame and cliche as that may sound, Its true
But that's one of the beauties of life right?
Life would be boring if everything was constant.
You learn from those changes knowing that there are many more to come.
Its like you can never get too comfortable with anything/anyone because anything could happen. 'Change' could happen.

I was thinking of a cool way to end this but I guess I didn't think enough.
Mutare.

Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Get Married.

It came out that the two lovebirds of nearly a year walked down the aisle two nights ago.

Seems like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds didn’t have just ANY old wedding — they had a Martha Stewart soirée!
